Appian Is The Best Low ode Plateform

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Appian is best for a small crowd. The reason behind this is its cost. We can have an intra-organization app using this platform. We can also develop a backend system in Appian for public apps. For public apps, login & users cost can make it a highly costly app.

Pros

  • It provides the best platform security. It is very much important to protect your platform from various cyber-attacks. That is why I enjoy working on Appian also we can create various interactive applications using low code.

Cons

  • It provides a lot of features and functionality which will really help us to deal with real-time use cases and handle business requirements so I can say it's perfect.

Likelihood to Recommend

As an Appian user, where we have a data connector application built in Appian that is integrated with various systems and provides a summary in Appian UI. We as a user can initiate new requests to extract, Transform and Load data on a specific or selected system with just simple clicks.

We have automated the whole business process and its associated business activities. We collect data from a lot of different users and assimilate them into a big info hub. That info hub is used to get data for the creation of business strategies and business planning. All the business decisions related to the business process are automated through Appian

Pros

  • workflow management
  • looks good
  • easy to use from user's perspective

Cons

  • integrating with excel
  • excel formatting
  • database connectivity with DB views

Best low- code platform

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Appian to streamline the process for our organization and for our clients and make it more digitalized. Increase turnaround time, efficiency, process orchestration, return on investments, performance, intuitive applications, AI, RPA for [our] clients. We have been using it in all sectors like financial, pharma, government, insurance, life sciences, manufacturing, etc.

Pros

  • Low code automation
  • Quarterly upgrades
  • Compatibility on multiple platforms
  • Performance

Cons

  • Easy import of java libraries

Likelihood to Recommend

Appian is well suited for pretty much all the industries like financial, insurance, banking, etc. One example is to use it in [the] supply chain model of [the] pharma industry with [a] quick turnaround time. Appian is less appropriate for small-scale clients where there is less potential for automation and digitalization.

Automate Workflow for Any Industries

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are using Appian in the hospital to automate the workflow of patient registration, diagnosis, and treatment. It only took two weeks to implement it at the hospital. Appian has connected patients with doctors and departments in a faster, streamlined way. It has eliminated the traditional form of paper-based registration and reporting saving hours of administrative work. Now the patients are able to get treatment faster with Appian workflow automation. Furthermore, with Appian doctors and administrators can perform much faster with decision rules, case management, and AI.

Pros

  • Excellent AWS SaaS platform for workflow automation
  • Supports machine learning to make processes more efficient
  • Can automate hundreds of end to end processes

Cons

  • Quite expensive platform starting at $75 per feature per month
  • Difficult to implement

Likelihood to Recommend

Appian is best suited for organizations that have to respond to hundreds of customers on a daily basis. It makes all the process of customer service much faster. It is less appropriate where workflow has very few processes and does not need to interact with hardware systems.

Appian: Not the best for new or inexperienced users; steep learning curve

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It is being used to automate our IT automated procurement processes. It allows the process of getting quotes from vendors to the approval person to be done much faster. We also use it to automate sending reminders to relevant employees to continue the tasks left unfinished in dev, test, and prod environments.

Pros

  • Automate processes like reminders
  • Keeping data secure
  • Process modeling

Cons

  • Most of the platform is hard to use
  • Difficult for new users
  • Little to no explanation on how to do things
  • Not very good at advice on use-cases
  • Not aesthetically pleasing, especially compared to its competitors

Likelihood to Recommend

It is well suited for business-critical automation, especially when sensitive data is involved. It is not good for citizen development. It is definitely more suited to pro developers who write code for a living. Quick apps are helpful for those not well versed in the platform. Automated reminder emails are consistently and frequently sent out looking very official and full of detail.

  • Easy of use
  • Friendly interface
  • Instant results

Cons

  • Multiple users editing the same interface
  • Process models
  • Initial ramp up may be tricky for some

Beginner Appian Developer Review

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Appian is used to manage Network Order Processing. It is being used by few departments. It solves a pain point. Faster processing of orders. There is a huge implementation in Wireline Order processing.

Pros

  • Task management through the work flow.
  • Easily can be implemented for collaboration between different work groups.
  • Easily can be integrated between upstream and down stream systems.

Cons

  • For each release of Appian, it looks like regression testing is not proper. We see some broken old functionalities whenever it is upgraded. It can be improved.
  • Record List Grid View can be made with little flexibility. So that in the future we can use records instead of building reports.
  • In the monitoring view, better to keep 'process activity' tab as the first to load instead of the 'health dashboard.'

Likelihood to Recommend

Appian is well suited for proper task creation for proper workgroups. Appian is less appropriate when we need an application to manage data only.

Appian a great product in the right place!

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Appian for low code development, specifically, we are migrating several older applications to our Appian code base. Specifically, we are using in the Production and Technology workspace and slowly expanding the Appian footprint across the organization. Given the distributed nature of our workforce, using a tool like Appian allows us to leverage more expensive managers with our emergent coding organization.

Pros

  • Allows at a glance workflow documentation which assists in the need we have for information readiation.
  • Drag and drop interface for workflow development greatly speeds our apps time to market.
  • Using the advanced features of Appian, we are able to create working sites in a fraction of the time it would take to do so using "traditional" development.

Cons

  • There is a definite learning curve associated with Appian and functional information may be difficult to find.
  • Better in line help would be a welcome addition.
  • The pace of change means that, just about the time we are mastering this version, the NEXT version is coming out.

Likelihood to Recommend

We use Appian to build out the behind the scenes workflows in our applications and the web dev aspect to skin those new apps. If you have extremely complex algorithms or logic, Appian may struggle a bit... and the low code makes altering as needed for ADA requirements, extremely challenging.
