Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Amazon Lightsail to host our organization's application, it is very cheap and the most important thing is at this low price we get a Virtual private server it's amazing. It solves various issues as it is a part of AWS Eco-system so we can automate so many thinks like route53, s3 various other AWS services safely.

Pros

  • Its provide pre configured Apps and operating system
  • Very easy to use interface and the cost is also very low
  • Integration with other AWS services like route53, S3 etc

Cons

  • We can scale the system in the bigger plan only, no downgrade option available.
  • Sometimes I had to pay extra changes for the data transfer, I think they should increase the free data transfer limit.

Return on Investment

  • The cost of Amazon Lightsail service is very low so it saves money.
  • The user interface is very clean and easy to use, so not required too much to understand all the features.
  • No negative impact, everything is fine.

I use Amazon Lightsail for most of my projects which are web based. The organization that I use to work for in the past uses it for the employee which makes the task easy for them and it boost up the process of development. It is very easy to setup with minimal configuration.

With the bundled ec2 instance, no need to care the traffic cost and the segmented start-up , It gives the ability which customers can run applications without our support.

We used Amazon Lightsail to get a proof of concept project up running for a web application. It is very simple to set up, minimal configuration, and allows us to focus on the code. It is meant for getting started quickly, with minimal hassle but not for enterprise applications and workloads.
