For our company group L&D this is working perfectly. However for an individual business unit it is a complex system to integrate with our business processes and cannot accommodate most of our regulatory processes. For learners the interface is beautiful and perfect, however for administrators having to manage courses, user admin (non-employed) it becomes a problem with licenses as our industry has a high turn-over of resources who are not employed.
Pros
User interface
Learning paths
Cons
Non-Scorm format tests
Non-Scorm format courses
User administration (external)
Development to fit business processes
Likelihood to Recommend
Human Capital Learning and Development training for employed staff. Cannot integrate business processes easily, and external staff is a problem to register. Not having an authoring tool, to build assessments directly instead of a SCORM file.
Adobe Learning Manager is accessible to all our University students, faculty and researchers. It is widely used to ensure permanent and continuous training for all users of the University. In our case, the goal is always to guarantee an update thanks to accessible training activities. In our University, Adobe Learning Manager is not used for people external to our organization.
Pros
It guarantees excellent access to all University users to continuing education courses.
The graphics are straightforward and intuitive. Therefore it does not lead to errors and facilitates its use enormously.
The continuous updates of the software allow us to improve more and more its use by our users.
Cons
Sometimes the software does not allow you to associate individual online training with specific categories of users correctly.
Sometimes the software crashes, mainly when used by many users simultaneously.
The customer service system needs to be improved. Long waiting times often slow down our result targets.
Likelihood to Recommend
Despite some problems encountered, the software is optimal for managing multiple courses by associating them with different categories of users. Thanks to its features, Adobe Learning Manager allows you to include additional elements that guarantee the user a complete training experience. The opportunity to use it on mobile devices is optimal for us.
ALM is currently used to administer our external licensing training. Licensees can enroll in one of three classes in any of 8 combinations. Licensees choose classes based on the needs for their intended license. Adobe Learning Manager has been useful to track students' progress in the program and once learned by the administrator, tracks the progress well.
Pros
Tracks learning time in each module.
Provides customizable reports.
Provides daily score reports (subscribable).
Can use CSVs for registration/enrollments.
Cons
I would like to see Q2 quiz scores searchable.
I would like Q2 quiz scores filterable.
I wish quiz scores for each instance would load all at once, I'd rather see lag than have to scroll endlessly.
Likelihood to Recommend
Well-suited to places that have the funding to implement appropriately. Well-suited to internal training. Well-suited to compliance training. Less appropriate for licensing training.
We have used this for three years and the only difficulty we had was the migration from our old LMS. I’m sure it had been improved since then, but it was very confusing and time consuming. Otherwise, we like it. It works well with our use needs of housing our required training courses.
Pros
Easy to use.
Adobe is always making updates.
Customizable to our needs.
Easy for trainees to use.
Cons
Migration of prior LMS was difficult.
Make fonts customizable so we cash use or marketing fonts of choice to brand it.
Likelihood to Recommend
It’s really easy to use for learners and administrators. I like that Adobe continuously makes updates and changes to improve the program as a whole. I would recommend it to others because it works well and the support is great.
We are creating custom content for Healthcare Organizations nationwide and are using Adobe Learning Manager as the LMS platform. We are creating a learning ecosystem for new and current end users within the organization teaching them how to effectively use their electronic health records. We have experienced that our training is improving end user adoption, reducing physician burnout and enhancing the overall learning experience improving adoption and retention.
Pros
Creates an easy navigation journey for the learner.
It allows end users to stop and take notes in the middle of learning as well as print notes.
Easy search functionality.
Cons
An easier way to "rewatch" completed learning.
An easier way to "watch again"...without having to search or go to the My Learning section.
Likelihood to Recommend
Adobe Learning Manager is well suited for any learner because it easy to use, extremely inviting, makes the learning experience fun, and ensures retention. We create micro learning modules that help the user pick up and/or search for things they need to know vs what they don't need to know. Physicians specifically only need to "know" certain information within the EHR and our learning journey using Adobe Learning Manager makes this super effective.
Adobe Learning Manager is being considered for use across the organization. It is being evaluated to onboard its new hires and certify members of the operations team. The company is currently using a traditional classroom training model to train its employees and is looking to use Adobe Learning Manager to implement its e-learning strategy, for more flexibility, to reduce time to go live, automate training administration tasks and reduce training delivery cost.
Pros
Blended learning paths.
Certifications.
User management.
Automated learning assignments.
Cons
Ability to create assessments and question banks directly on the LMS.
Checklists for learners to fulfill.
Skill and competency mapping.
Likelihood to Recommend
I have found Adobe Learning Manager to be very flexible and can be used in a variety of ways. It's easy to set it up for small organizations and also provides the scalability and performance required by larger organizations. I love the ability to reuse seats for one-time users and also the ability to split seats and create different portals for customers, partners and employees. The only scenarios where I see Adobe Learning Manager being less appropriate would be for organizations wanting e-commerce functionality and also in scenarios where organizations want assessment creation capabilities in the LMS.
We use Adobe Captivate Prime mainly for learning and development, for both internal and external users. We prepare the courses, publish, and upload [them] into our LMS. To design multiple courses in [a] more engaging way, Adobe Captivate Prime is useful. I definitely recommend this software to every e-learning developer to address their issues. Sometimes it [is] slow, and also we face problems with the larger files.
Pros
Software simulation
AR/VR videos
PPT to storyboard
Corporate-level storyboarding
Cons
Gallery
Icon collection
Internal security
Likelihood to Recommend
Adobe Captivate Prime is well suited for PPT to storyboard conversion and AR/VR video preparations. Also, this is helpful in e-learning development, content engagement, and video creation. There is [a] feature for software simulation. But there is other software [that] can be more helpful for the simulation recordings compared to Adobe Captivate Prime. This is best for course creation and upgrading.
This product helped us create personalized teaching systems for different students and members of staff in the English department. We used it to help with access to materials and tracking of progress during the pandemic so that we could transition to online learning more effectively. We will keep using it now that we are mostly back to in-person learning. I only used it internally.
Pros
[It] helps track student progress.
[It] makes it easy to create very specific and focused material for small groups.
[It is] easy to use and understand so that we didn't have to do a great deal of training with all the users.
Cons
[It] could have a cleaner and clear dashboard [as] some icons [were] unclear.
Some of the processes seemed to have too many steps, but mostly they worked okay.
Sometimes, the automatic update didn't work [and it] frustrated some of my colleagues.
Likelihood to Recommend
We found it worked well for intra-department learning, in enabled us to keep a whole office of remote workers up-to-date on various new systems during the pandemic. Seemed to work well for students and staff working from home and particularly helped the admin staff keep teaching staff on track with new systems.
Adobe Captivate Prime is used by a small business unit to provide technical training content to their external business partners. The aim here is to have them attend content to keep individuals up to date on topics and technologies. By doing so the partner will be allowed to continue within the partner program which is recognised by the customers.
Pros
Pretty simple setup
Good for smaller implementations
Probably good for schools and similar educational institutions in the way its designed.
Cons
The documentation leaves quite a few things to be desired. The basics seem to be there, but frequently I come across options and settings that are not covered in the documentation and need support help to clarify.
Missing explanations within the UI makes some setup longer than needed as one doesn't know if an option is relevant for a setup or not.
I feel the intended design for educational institutions makes it a little less flexible for other uses.
Likelihood to Recommend
The system seems particularly well suited for education, schools, and similar institutions. This wasn't exactly what I was intending the system to be used for, but I didn't have a say in the selection of the system. I have managed to make it work partly because the system allows renaming of the User Interface text. At least for the user. The renaming isn't going all the way through the system hence creating potential confusion for those running reports. Something that can be overcome with a little training on the system. More problematic I think is the fact that renaming only works in English when users have the option to switch to either German or French.
