Acrobat Reader is a must-have. This was the first and best tool for reading PDF files that have helped me to read documentation or to validate the outcome of a computer program. I use it every day to read documents, manuals, payroll receipts, and more. It's not just a tool that helps to read the PDF files it's an actual reliable software program that will be always up and keep innovating.
Pros
Loads pretty fast.
It's reliable offline and in the cloud.
Copying text is easy.
Cons
Have the ability to programmatically add more functionality.
Likelihood to Recommend
As a developer this is not just a tool to read your documentation, it helps to validate in the most reliable way if a program outcome is correct. Many times we have to come up with PDF generation and Adobe Acrobat is always present to open the document fast so you can keep improving your layout and process.

We use Adobe Acrobat Reader for many functions in the workplace, most importantly to update and edit PDF documents, especially our client agreements. We use the editing features, we export documents to and from Microsoft Word, and we also utilize the combine/separate feature to manage pages within a document.
Pros
Editing.
Reformatting Scanned Documents.
Electronic Signature Functionalities.
Cons
The only thing that I can think that could be improved upon would be the ease of using the formatting text feature within the program and more flexibility in customizations like this.
Likelihood to Recommend
It's a well-suited program for working with varying types of documents, it's especially convenient for documents requiring signatures and/or initials.
We use Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to fill out company forms (offer letters, transfer forms, handbooks, release forms) and send them virtually among our employees and new employees.
Pros
Ease of use
Functionality
Convenient for remote companies
Cons
Functionality of email messages attached to an Adobe Document
Inability to go back once you are in the page where you assign signers

Adobe Acrobat works well for inter-office documents, electronic signing, document sharing, etc.
Adobe Acrobat (the version we use) doesn't work great with bulk signing documents.
We use Adobe Acrobat Reader DC for a variety of different reasons, including PDF document creation, security protocols (passwords and encryption), signature authorization, exporting to various formats (from PDF), and more. Adobe is the standard in the industry when it comes to graphic creation tools, and so we use the entire Adobe Suite. [Adobe Acrobat Reader] DC (being a part of that paid suite) has been instrumental in helping us create and organize our documents.
Pros
Creating PDF documents from scratch, including creating various field types
Enhancing a document's security with passwords and encryption
Exporting a PDF document into other file types, including Microsoft Word
Quickly and easily combining documents to create a single PDF
Cons
Accurately exporting all fields correctly (including UI design) of a PDF into various formats. There tend to be quirks with some exports.
Choosing the right encryption type. This can get a little tricky.
Getting picky with Acrobat custom fields when you're trying to do something out-of-the-box (during PDF creation).

We love using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC for it's promised core features: from PDF creation to signatures to security. It definitely helps that Adobe is the industry standard, so it's easy to work with and translate documents with our clients who use the same software. We find that it lacks more of the high level e-sign and consent features that a DocuSign would provide.
Within my freelance business I use Acrobat Reader DC to test Acrobat forms and files that I am send to clients who do not have the full version of Acrobat Pro. I also work part time at a non-profit where I implemented the use of Acrobat Reader in conjunction with Sign to streamline their forms. We are able to transfer our internal forms to fillable, sign-able PDFs with Acrobat Pro and then have individual departments view and sign with Acrobat Reader.
Pros
Easily view and fill out online forms.
Ability to sign forms.
Easily views and read in almost all environments.
Perfect for sending proofs to clients.
Notes can be added. Very handy for clients to note changes or corrections right on the documnet.
Cons
There are many things you can not do unless you have the full version of Acrobat Pro, but that is what this program was made for. A free version to view, sign, and make notes.
Likelihood to Recommend
Acrobat Reader DC is great for view and reviewing documents, particularly proofs where it is helpful to have note for changes and corrections directly on the document. Reader is also helpful in filling out forms and signing them. It is not the full version, so things like creating forms are not available. For that you would need the full version of Acrobat Pro.
Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is used across all departments within our organization to create, view and print pdf documents. In our company, most of the deliverables including client reports, invoices, agreements, and other reports are prepared in a word or ppt document and are later converted into PDF documents for reliable sharing with other parties. Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is the most trusted software to convert other file formats into a pdf file format for protected sharing. It allows our team to create, print, annotate, combine, stamp, redact, compress, protect, and e-sign the pdf documents. It allows us to easily prepare forms, fill, scan, comment, e-sign, and share pdf or scanned pdf documents forms. PDF files can be stored on Document cloud for easy access across devices. It allows file management and 'starring' of the pdf documents for easy access.
Pros
Document cloud to store and access files across devices.
Star PDF files to quickly open favorite documents.
Create, view, edit, annotate, print, protect, e-sign pdf files.
Search within the PDF documents.
PDF file sharing and collaboration.
Cons
Editing feature does not work well in terms of spacing and alignment.
Some hangs when you open large size files and try keyword search in those files.
Mobile app navigation features could be improved.
Requires training in case you want to use all the available features.
Likelihood to Recommend
Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is well suited where you need to view, annotate, print, password protect, redact, and e-sign pdf files. In case you want easy access to all pdf documents across all devices then the Document cloud storage feature is very helpful. Also, the product is well suited for file management, storing scanned files, combing two files to make one, compress the file, and exporting pdf files into Excel, Word, or PowerPoint, or vice-versa. Editing the documents in the tool is a little bit challenging due to font formatting and other formatting issues like alignment, resizing, and spacing. Online collaboration is also a little bit challenging sometimes when multiple people work on the same document.
Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is being used by our entire organization. It is the primary program that we use when we're sending forms, design comps, and event notices to other departments. It is also the best pdf reader that I've come across, because it has the most options to make your PDF a fluid, easy to use document.
Pros
Quick loading. When time is of the essence, PDFs load very quickly in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC
Ability to comment. When design comps come through, the ability to comment inside Adobe Acrobat Reader DC makes it easy for the designer to see what changes need to be made and where.
Ability to create forms. Some PDF readers aren't capable of displaying form data, but Adobe Acrobat Reader DC has this capability, along with the ability to save a new version.
Cons
Confusing organization. While this program has a lot of options and tools, it can be hard to remember where exactly everything is, and specific tools tend to get buried.
Not able to edit existing PDFs. There are times where a simple nudge to a photo would make a document perfect, but the ability to edit within the PDF is not available.
Files must be completely closed to be able to save over the file. Sometimes I need to make a quick change to an existing file, but it won't allow me to make that change if the file is open in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC
Likelihood to Recommend
Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is a great program if you work with PDFs a lot, whether as a copy editor or a designer, office manager, etc. There are a lot of uses for PDFs, and this program is the standard for PDF viewing. This program shows files in their truest form, as compared to other PDF viewers that may not have the best representation.
Is being used as a way to review and share documents. It is being used by the whole organization as it is a very versatile program. So far we have not got any issues nor problems with using it, in fact, has helped us to have a more fluent way of reviewing business documents, etc.
Pros
Convert Any Document to a Workable PDF
The software is incredibly excellent for documents viewing and reading.
super easy and intuitive to use.
Cons
The search option does not always work
Some of the tabs are frustrating to navigate
I wish we could have the default setting not to have the tab on the right to be collapsed. I find it annoying to collapse this each time I open it.
Likelihood to Recommend
The software is easily safe to change your documents to pdf and be able to read them whilst no one can edit them if you choose. It's great to edit pdf documents as well.
Considering its versatility and essential use maybe a disadvantage would be that at times newer versions may not be compatible with older versions
I use Adobe Acrobat Reader DC at least on a weekly basis, sometimes daily. I find it to be most useful for reviewing and signing contracts. It has a lot more capabilities than I had initially ever thought and I'm sure I don't even know half of them as I don't use it for much beyond what I stated. It has proven to be useful and convenient for PDF related things such as compressing the size easily.
Pros
Review, fill and sign files and contracts
Compress PDFs
Cons
None come to mind
Likelihood to Recommend
Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is well suited for those who have a lot of interaction with PDFs. It's an easy way to reduce the file size, edit, fill and/or sign documents, review documents with commenting, etc. It has many capabilities and I'm sure I don't even know the half of them. It comes off as such as simple sort of "whatever" software to have but I've found myself without it at times and wished for it. As it can be very convenient to use instead of other programs that can do the same things.

Adobe Acrobat Reader is being used by our intake department to catalog, organize, and update or modify signed retainer documents received from our disability clients. These signed documents are added to files that all users in our company can review, but only certain users with more advanced permission sets can download or modify them.

Makes it easy to find specific text in documents.
Makes it incredibly to easy to edit and modify docs.
Makes it easy to review and identify modifications.
Allows docs to be locked so that changes cannot be made.
Keeps documents looking crisp and clear.
Makes it easy to send docs as attachments and links.
Cons
Offer some editing features without purchasing premium.
Capability to easily transfer doc to a word document.
Attach an interactive email or link to document.

I would recommend Adobe Acrobat Reader for colleagues who have to work through heavy amounts of documents daily. If your documents have lots of legal jargon or specific details, Adobe Acrobat will make it easy for you to search for and edit key phrases. Easily annotate laws or codes in your writing as well.
