If you're looking for contacts and leads in the media and advertising space, this is a very useful tool. I only have the light version, so I only have access to contact information, which is good for our budget. It makes it very easy to find the right people to get in touch with on media and advertising opportunities. If you pay more, you also get good info on their spend, spending categories, and spending periods.
Winmo is best suited when you know which company you are looking for, but are missing some information, including key contacts, agency relationships, and quarterly advertising budgets. Scenarios where it is less appropriate are when you already know which company/contact you are looking for, and you are merely looking for company info to provide context
MediaRadar was the best tool in the native advertising space. We use a combination of multiple resources like Alf, Winmo, Seller Crowd to get a holistic view. Every platform has its unique advantages and disadvantages over the others. MediaRadar's support is outstanding and makes it easy to work with them. Winmo has a more comprehensive view of media budgets compared to MR.
I've used a few different services like Winmo, one of them being seamless. Winmo was a lot easier to use and the information that I gather from Winmo seems to be a lot more accurate and easy to navigate. User experience is a big deal, the easier to find information the better.
Since I use Media Radar to locate brand information as well as contacts for outreach, it has positively impacted the amount of opportunities my organization receives.
I can say that acquiring this software has been profitable for the agency because we have increased our client portfolio, and we have also reduced the hours we used to invest in the search for new clients and contacts. The list of contacts it provides us with is always very useful and they almost always become clients.
