We usually recommend it to those that want to start streaming their podcasts LIVE and don't have much bandwidth for learning new software. Its simplicity is perfect for beginners. That being said, if the person we are talking to wants to be able to download high-quality video and audio files after the stream is over -for post-production reasons- we usually refer them to different software.

If you have a preexisting community somewhere (a newsletter for example) and you want to interact with them, YouTube Live is a great tool to do that. In my experience, a Live is great to make announcement, discuss topic or even make interviews if you integrate it with Zoom.
I guess it's not as useful if you haven't build a community yet, since people are not going to show up on your live if they don't know that you exist.

  • Some supermarkets do live advertising or clothing shops I've seen/watched
  • music is my every day live at work

Cons
  • I would like to be able to change default layout via admin in some instances because for example, it’s a cropped layout for 2+ speakers by default.
  • I would like the opportunity to copy comments from the comments section (even if we need to paste it to private chat).
  • I would like the opportunity to share the link to download video with guest speakers.

  • It could have options of studio like a oneline platform of restream of fb live to help make multi people connect, tickers etc
  • There should be options of virtual backdrops and faceless live streams with other videos or images via mobile
  • It could make resharing content a little easier to more platforms and also improve the auto edits into bite sized content

Usability
You don't need to be an expert and you don't have anything to install.

It provides a lot of tools, but in order to be a 10 it should be a little bit more "visually friendly". Also it contains so many options all at once that it can be overwhelming. Other than that, it's a great software for your business/personal project.

Alternatives Considered
The StreamYard interface is more functional and easy to understand for participants, speakers, and team members. StreamYard also allows managing live streams in the app without the need to go to social media for checking comments, replying to them, etc. Simultaneously, StreamYard has many more options compared to other similar tools. For example, it allows sharing slides from different PowerPoints and screens, adding videos, visuals, and live comments with one click. Due to these options, we save time on managing live sessions and our broadcasts look much more professional and engaging.

YouTube Live Is more cost effective it is more widely seen easily available and better while I have used Facebook Live, Linkedin Live, instagram live YouTube Live is more easier. to use, but combined with a multi streaming platform the net effect is excellent and you can actually stream to all the platforms together at the same time

Return on Investment
  • It has increased the reach rate and the number of followers on social media pages, for example, on our Youtube page, the number of followers increased by 2 times the original amount.
  • It has reduced the amount of time our communications team spends on editing videos.
  • More team members are able to use StreamYard by themselves, which has allowed us to reduce the time our communications team spends on managing live sessions before.
