Suitable: Simple indirect procurement. Low cost; short cycle implementation. Less Suitable: Complex procurement scenario requiring serious vendor collaboration. End-to-end integration. Direct Material Procurement, especially when planning, quality inspection, and other miscellaneous activities are involved, requires handling various special statuses and updates to meet industry- or country-specific requirements.

If your organization processes a large number of purchase orders and invoices every month/year, SAP Business Network is very effective, whereas smaller vendors without strong IT support sometimes struggle with setup and ongoing use. making onboarding and training a barrier.

  • A consistent format is helpful because if you learn the tool once, then you should be set for long term success.
  • Straightforward with some of the fields (not all), but for some pieces of work. It is easy enough due to the direct nature of the tool.

  • With the SAP Business Network, it is possible to get live access to your financial figures; thus, you are always dealing with the new info rather than last week's stale info.
  • This platform allows you to create specific and detailed, customizable reports covering just about any situation.
  • SAP Business Network sticks all your finance apps together and ensures that your data is moving and that your manual errors are kept under control.

  • With one particular customer I have had about 40 emails to be accepted as a vendor. With other customers before Coupa became horrendous I had no problems. As an existing Coupa user why do I have to create a new profile?
  • I have been accepted as a user 3 times then a day later Coupa wants the same form filled again and again.
  • Help is only on a chat line. You cannot speak to anyone and in my opinion they are not helpful. Their suggstions have gotten me nowhere. They refer me to talk with my customer to straighten out the problem. My cusotmer doesn't have a clue.
  • I'm considering not to accept purchase orders that require invoicing through Coupa.

  • In some cases, it promises a lot but still lacks more partners joined to the network
  • Being the pioneer, the idea behind the product can be confusing sometimes
  • It is still not accessible for all kinds of markets (especially small and mid sizes)

Up to now due to delay not fulfilling the envisaged business case. However, expectation that we can still ramp the usage based on existing scope. Further, we foresee additional scope which would give us an additional business case going forward, extending the Business Network usage to Warehouse Service Provider integration.

-Could be easy or hard to use depending on corporate policies and compliance. At times, errors and cryptical message associated with them could drive users mad.

The reason we have given this good rating is mainly because its feature rich product and multiple use cases like supply chain, procurement, logistics and asset collaboration. It helps us to gain visibility into the freight order life cycle to better manage appointments, share insights, digitally manage transactions and optimise logistic processes

Support Rating
-Support is generally speaking OK (not great). The user community is quite active, and the response time is acceptable. I would certainly hope there's more user-generated content (like in SAP, Oracle, and Linux, etc.), but I suppose Coupa is still not large enough, and the incentives are not yet there.

Good performance from SAP as key deployment partner; collaboration and deployment with additional business partner for data provision and business partner onboarding was rather difficult, slowing down the project progress and overall success perception

Coupa fits within our desire to have best of breed systems delivering value to our organization. We generally work with true cloud providers that are available anytime, anywhere for our mobile workforce. We are pleased that Coupa is in our lineup of service solutions.

In a few words, the interface at SAP Business Network has been generally helpful to me. This interface is simple, and I found it easier to coordinate many actions on a single site. The analytics features are the most beneficial, and it is easy to tell whether a campaign is effective.

Return on Investment
  • The Sourcing Module has returned our investment 23 times on an annualized basis.
  • We're now SOX compliant and as a public company, that's keeping us compliant with our corporate charter.
  • Having one central invoicing location has reduced our AP calls significantly. Our suppliers now have visibility into where their invoice is in the payment cycle. We also have a much higher invoice-to-pay cycle.

  • SAP Business Network has provided a positive Return On Investment for our business. It explains the objective by significantly enhancing operation outcomes.
  • Another thing is that cost control enables better pricing comparison. This is not only cost-effective but also offers a good discount on bulk orders.
  • Overall, the SAP Business Network has increased supply chain resilience, streamlined our purchasing costs, and enabled more growth with our core business objective.
