Resource Guru vs. Runn

It is very well suited when different branches of the company reside in different countries or time zones. It allows the project manager to efficiently keep track of the progress of their team members. It reduces the need for intensive calls where the manager asks for an extensive check in and update from each individual person. It also allows the project manager to update tasks and timelines as needed.

Runn is our scheduling tool. We use it to track the dozens of projects that we have running and who is assigned to them. It allows us to create schedules for each employee and contractor (consultants) so we can effectively stay within the hours we allocate to each project and stay within the project budget.

• We can color by client, project, booker for clear picture.
• There are filters to select particular resources for need of our event.
• We can easily see booked and free time.

• Runn allows us to track projects over a period of time to see who worked on it and how many hours were spent, to keep us on track.
• Runn allows us to create schedules for our team of consultants. By viewing a person, we can see each project assigned and the weekly hours allocated.
• Runn allows us to run reports to see if we need to bill for hours that go over the weekly allocation.

Resource Guru is the only product of it's kind that I have used regularly. Slack is comparable in allowing communication between teams, but doesn't have nearly the functionality of Resource Guru. Resource Guru is the only product that I am aware of that manages tasks and deadlines between various team members, and can be accessed by all members.

We used Hubstaff before moving to Runn. The decision to leave Hubstaff was purely a financial one, as we were looking to cut expenses during the early phase of the pandemic. Both products are good, and Hubstaff worked well for our organization, but it was decided to move to Runn to save on organizational expenses without losing needed functionality.

• It's easy to assign work to the resources.
• Resources can be filtered with various criteria as per the project needs.
• We get clear picture of assigned tasks and hence project progress.

• Runn has been a positive impact on our expenses because we use a free (or low-cost) version in our tech stack.
