Opsview Monitor

OpsView is great when you need a very flexible, extensible solution for monitoring infrastructure. It's not great when you want to monitor application performance timings

• Easily extensible. We write many of our own monitoring plugins for Opsview and use open source Nagios community plugins as well
• Quick to deploy. Don't need to worry about all of the dependencies that you need to with something like Nagios
• It just works. Most of the housekeeping tasks are completely automated
• Nice visualizations and dashboards

• smb version is missing some powerfull features

OpsView is easier to manage and configure than Nagios. Thanks to clear, intuitive and powerfull UI you can add thousands of check in a manner of minutes not hours. It adds user and permission management and ability to create dashboards. It has strong community support and almost all Nagios checks can be used with OpsView so you don't need to reinvent the wheel
