They are well suited for private practice physical therapy outpatient clinics with 4-8 therapists but with larger numbers like 20 PTs it may require more staff. They have done a great job with our size of 4 PTs and 1 PTA. They communicate quickly in request for information.

Therabill is great for small clinic practices because the functions save time, organize billing, and make tracking financials much easier. Reports are easily accessible and easy to read, saving time with tracking . I think that Therabill is suitable for large and small clinics, time saver! I can't really see a scenario where a clinic would not benefit from Therabill.

  • While knowledgeable, support agents don't seem to speak English as a primary language, so communication can be difficult at times
  • I feel billing secondary insurance is really tedious, having to submit it patient by patient
  • Handling claim denials, corrected claims, and resubmissions is incredibly tedious and difficult, in my experience, requiring a great deal of time and moving across the site to handle one claim at a time

The UI is fairly user-friendly and finding what you need on the site isn't that difficult. Once set up, EDI and ERA receipt works smoothly and payment posting from ERAs is straightforward and simple for the most part. But handling claim denials, corrections, and resubmissions is incredibly difficult. It is not only difficult to find and sort them, but to send them out for reprocessing as well.

I am giving this rating due to their effectiveness, overall job performance promptness with improved reimbursement percentage since beginning with them in 2015. They have been a great company to work with and they are on top of their market and the needs of their customers. Their staff has been a great asset for our company

Chat is great but often not working or very slow responses. Can't easily talk to a person about issues and emails are very slow to get answered

Alternatives Considered
External billing company that was local but they weren't as well versed in the current billing issues that have been in flux due to constant changes from insurance companies every year. They are superior and I would recommend them to anyone who wants a highly effective and great company that communicates quickly with their customers.

Our previous billing software was Tiger Misys and Payerpath by Allscripts. Both were very antiquated means of managing claims and payments. Therabill by WebPT at least is modern and functions far more simply and is more user-friendly. That said, we have since moved to Prompt EMR, which while the user interface is less intuitive, the functionality is far more streamlined and efficient for a clinic of our size.
