Lexis is really just best suited if you don't have access to Westlaw. Overall, it it does get the job done, but the user experience is not the best. Searches could be better indexed and relevant information (e.g. cases, statutes, issues, past searches) aren't as easily accessible. If you aren't doing a ton of additional research it is good for blue book citations

Using Lexis for Microsoft Office in our office was a game changer. We were previously using another form generation program, and it was glitchy, operated exclusively on our server which caused lag, and it took a lot of time to edit the forms for any changes. Lexis for Microsoft Office streamlined everything and because it is cloud-based, it operates smoothly and efficiently. The interface is extremely user-friendly, and we've noticed that producing forms are way more efficient now.

Alternatives Considered
Lexis Advance is way better in terms of usability and search features. The content is pretty much the same for both platforms except in Litigation where WestLaw is much stronger than Lexis. However, the Feature functionality of Lexis is a lot better to keep users efficient and productive and collaboration is also good.

HotDocs was very inefficient, not as user-friendly, had a more convoluted interface, and it took a lot of time to go back and edit previously drafted documents.
