If you do web programming, code integration with your remote team, and/or software development that requires real-time monitoring of development progress, monday dev is an excellent tool for this. Like its base platform, Monday.com, monday dev is developed and attempts to integrate into a very "new era" organizational system of digital whiteboards, only now focused more on productivity and helping developers to be comfortable in remote work.

While monday dev is an excellent ally to organize and work in harmony with your team, there are still certain important aspects that need to be improved. They are minor, but if corrected, they will help improve the user experience when using it.

Monday is better than Jobber, as it gives you a place to see where all the jobs are and what the current status is. Everyone in the company can go to and see that view. It's not dependent on the status of the employee. Excel is much more technical and requires much more work to set up.

  • We can more easily grab the KPIs for our quarterly reviews.
  • There are no automatic charts or reports I can pull for the quarter. Everything is manually gathered.
  • Doesn't give us job costing.

Screenshot of Agile board specifically engineered for developers and tech leads. Cards are automatically moved when items are updated in development tools such as code repositories. The board adapts to Scrum, Kanban or your own version of Agile depending on your needs for each project.Screenshot of Priority Inbox. Presents an aggregated view of all development items automatically prioritized depending on criticality. Discussion feeds are centralized from all development tools in one place for each item (from code repositories, tracking tools etc.). Issues nested under Pull Requests are identified for each pull requests and can be commented upon separately.Screenshot of The Data Explorer allows querying and searching development items without any API calls. Reports created are dynamic, can be shared with team members and can be pinned on the Priority Inbox for faster tracking.Screenshot of The Review and Merge board allows for central review of all Pull Requests and taking action depending on their readiness status. It is possible to batch-merge (which can be very useful for some patches, e.g. Security patches when using Dependabot and equivalent).
