KeePassXC vs. RoboForm

Whenever I have an employee that needs a secure way of storing personal passwords, this is my go to option

I cannot speak to enterprise or larger company use since I am a solo business owner. But for solo, very small, and small businesses it is a reliable, easy-to-use password manager. The cost has always seemed reasonable to me but I admit I have not shopped around because I've been happy with RoboForm - it is the only password manager I have ever used. A personal account, which is what I have, is $23.88 USD per year - they usually have a discount for the first year. If I had employees the business account might be worth it although I haven't investigated it. (It costs more - $39.95 per year per user for a one-year subscription). Discounts are available for 3-year and 5-year subscriptions.

• Allows access to all my information on my mobile phone

• Usability is worse if compared to other solutions but this is a good thing
• References are a good feature, but it may be complicated to make them work as expected
• Integration with other applications like browsers can be definitely improved
• Features like secure notes and storing secrets that are not credentials but very sensitive like credit cards are definitely missed.

• I have no difficulties with this app and therefore no suggestions for improvement. I'm not a software engineer. It works for me. I'm happy.

I think some of the interface could be improved. Also, it would be nice to have autotype working in Wayland. Other than that though, it's easy enough that I've been able to teach non-technical people how to use it effectively.

Considering I have had this product for over 10 years and I have never had to contact support shows this is a good product to use.

They are not exactly the same. KeePassXC is good for secure storing locally secrets like credentials. All the password managers mentioned above rely on storing data in the cloud and synchronization with various devices. KeePassXC definitely has much smaller attack surface. But at the cost of usability.

RoboForm is easier to use and more intuitive than the others in my opinion. It has more flexibility in what it can/will store.

• It is hard to quantify what was ROI on something which didn't happen. Let's say 1password was breached and the data was exposed. Since you're absolutely mission critical secure data was not there you scored big.
• Simplicity of the KeePassXC management is definitely good for ROI
• And since it's free and open source the cost of ownership is very low.

• The cost is not high so the ROI was easy as we use the program efficiently to save time looking for passwords elsewhere.
• It would be nice if we could gain ROI on commissions from RoboForm where we resell it
