IBM InfoSphere Information Server vs. Oracle Enterprise Data Quality

Information Server is extremely useful to replace manual developments that require a lot of coding effort. It significantly increases the productivity of the initial development and the future maintenance of the processes since it has a visual development environment with self-documentation.

When it comes to cleaning large data, for instance customer data, Oracle Enterprise Data Quality comes in handy and offers best features that makes it easy to clean data and visualize any flows

• IIS best for ETL ,not ELT , and many and diffrent source systems.
• It also can process big data , unstuctured data
• It is not only DWH , you can use infosphere for analys and see the bigger architecture of your OLTP systems

• Ease of management within Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and effectivity of EDQ Director
• Ease of installation with web based client.
• Data Quality issues solved quickly, easily and jobs are controlled within Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) seamlessly.
• Setup is straightforward. Java web application (OEDQ Director) helped us for not installing any client application.

• I would be nice to have a new web development environment for DataStage.
• Connectivity Packs such as Pack for SAP Application are a little pricey.
• It is confusing for new developers the possibility of developing jobs using different execution engines such as Parallel or Server.

• Oracle Data Quality requires a mobile version, which would apprehend many users.
• Oracle Data Quality has an inflexible UI, which should be more enhanced.
• Oracle Data Quality fails to revise prices, which are candid solutions in controlling the number of subscribers.

DataStage is more robust and stable than ODI The ability to perform complex transformations or implement business rules is much more developed in DS

I know of TDQ. We looked at the feature of TDQ and decided due to the license cost that we would use EDQ

• Better documentation and governance.
• Reduce training costs of various technologies.

• OEDQ reduces a lot of the manual work to review bad addresses.
• OEDQ helps to validate similar records and make it easier to keep customer loyalty.
