Jet Reports is well suited whrn you have all the data handy in excel files. But it gets a little tricky if you want to get the live data from social media or any other channels. I wish it had a better integration abilities with other websites or/and channels

Cons

  • Licensing is at times a challenge if you are using a Citrix remote desktop or remoting into a server.
  • For complex formulas the wizard could provide more contextual help.
  • More online documentation would be a big help for new users.

Because it is not the costliest tool in this category but it serves the purpose. It is easy to use, cost effective, and works really well with the data stored on cloud. It has wide range of dashboard templates which go really well with different types of data sets. I would love to use it agains and again

I hinestly have not used the support a lot but i have always had to way for longer durations to get a response on my emails. I have tried calling them a few times and the wait time was a little more than what i expected. They were able to answer my queries nonetheless

Alternatives Considered
  • I have been using Azure for my previous analysis, I had a difficult time in understanding the Analytics engine rather IBM provided step by step tutorial for setup.
  • Also turning off a machine was not an option in Azure for some of the services so I had to pay for the service whether I use it or not

Return on Investment
  • It has saved us quite a bit of time managing our catalog of clusters and keeping things organized.
  • Since we had a division we acquired running IBM Cloud, it was easy to get it running and try it out, but we found we prefer our Azure configuration better simply to keep our technology in alignment across corporate functions.
  • I definitely see some cost savings by separating out the storage and compute. It helps you start to put an appropriate price tag on certain instances of big data.
