Extole vs. GrowSurf

Anyone that has a business with a high NPS score should take advantage of this acquisition channel. If your business isn't promotional in nature (i.e., doesn't offer discounts), this type of program may not be as effective. It is important for both the advocate and the recipient to get something out of it. If only the advocate gets rewarded, it will likely diminish your returns.

We were launching an incentive and loyalty program for a client and they had so many questions. GrowSurf and their system basically gave us a script to follow and the setup, trainings, and tracking provided by their software made the project successful. At the end of the day, we use this and our clients use this to get started in loyalty and incentive programs from here on out.

• Track advocates and reward friends.
• Fraud prevention/Abuse of incentive program.
• Reporting is easy and provides good insights.

• Partner and referral incentives are done well.
• Tracking of all acquisition channels in the business.

• Lacks geo filtering capabilities (i..e, ability to serve refer a friend only to visitors from specific countries). Our team had to put that logic in place on our side instead of relying on Extole.
• Platform requires assistance from account manager for some actions/features that should be in the hand of the client.
• Quality Control has been an issue at time. Our program has gone down because a new global platform update went out and affected our implementation. Extole has been responsive in these types of incidents, but that should not happen.

• A team dashboard will be a great feature to have with more levels of access.
• Filter and parameters can be added into dashboard.
• Template UI customization can be enhanced.

More robust on fraud side. Good support.

GrowSurf was recommended to us by a friend and we were impressed after the free trial so we decided to go with it. The price was right and it offered what we needed so we didn't feel the need to try out other programs before deciding to go with GrowSurf.

• It took a few months to become ROI positive with Extole, but the ROAS has been good since. It probably represents about 2% of our new customers per month.

• Around 30% growth in new user onboarding.
• Less cost of marketing then ad programs.
• Less time consuming and requires less team size
