I do appreciate the ease of use and connection Google Surveys has with other Google products - that's a huge plus. While I'm a fairly digitally-minded user, some of our users are not, so that becomes a challenge if you want them to see the Data Studio reports or be able to print something for them. But if you're completely digital, gaining insight from the reports is very valuable. We've mostly used Google Surveys to generate answers to questions we have on how things are running or to collect information from our users/members/students on how they "feel" about particular topics, situations, or their work, in general. For that, it's been a breeze. But we're finding for more specific surveys that may have decision trees associated with the answers (if they answer "this" then send them to "that") we work more with Qualtrics. But you can't beat the price of Google Surveys when you can begin one for $50.

Sruveys with more complex flows/logis - especially when you want to link results back to specific users to be able to do more-in-depth analysis of results

Pros
  • The way the data comes out on a spreadsheet is very helpful, easy to see separate answers.
  • Very intuitive, easy to use, and learn how to use.
  • Versatile, can be used for many things, and has a variety of types of questions that you can add to your survey.

  • IMO, the strengths of feedback lite is what it is called for - 'lite"... it is basic, simple, and easy to set up and use.
  • Especially should be mention that it is easy to set up, and you can have it working in less than a few hours.
  • Reliable - I don't remember even one "problem" or an issue we experienced with it.

Cons
  • Background design, I think it would be better if we could personalize the background design.
  • I haven't encountered attaching video clips on it. I think it's great if we can attach video clips or voice clips since image can be attached.
  • Cute fonts will do.

  • In my opinion, inconsistent and visually unappealing survey visuals (e.g., NPS and cSAT questions look completely different from each other, creating a disjointed visual experience)
  • Poor customer service (in my experience, issue resolution can take weeks)
  • Lack of clarity around API & other technical capabilities requiring engineering assistance
  • Very limited maximum response limit per month

Only if we will really consider other features, we might end up with an alternative tool. if will continue the business process as it is, I don't anticipate migrating to another product

Usability
Relatively simple so that those who are less than familiar with computers can figure it out. User friendly and already embedded with other Google products. Receives an 8 because many features available with Google Surveys are also available with similar, free products on the internet today. Good, but not stellar.

In my experience, implementation was very drawn out and overly complicated (needed lots of engineering help from both sides), visual interface both within the tool and surveys shown in-app is unappealing and sometimes misleading, and making sure the right users are being targeted for any given survey sometimes requires more babysitting than ideal.

Support Rating
Google Surveys has a world-class support team. If you have any questions you can reach out to support and gain additional insight on how the product can meet your needs. As part of Google, the support team is very reliable. Our team has not had any issues reaching support and having a quick resolution turnaround.

Survicate offers quick in-product support, via chat ( not a chatbot ) that responds in minutes, not hours. For all customers. This is definitely something I don't see in some of the tools we use. Secondly, as a highest-package customer we're receiving insightful tips, and recommendations from our Customer Success Manager, who knows our use-cases really well and knows how Survicate can best address them. We even have a Slack channel, where we can get help in no-time

Setup was simple. One-time installation for our website and inside the product. We used Google Tag Manager to implement Survicate. So within 2 hours, we were able to run surveys, and also all attributes and events were passed to Survicate, so that we were able to use them to trigger surveys

Alternatives Considered
I use Google Analytics periodically to see how our website is performing. It's so slick to be able to see how many visitors we've had from month to month and year to year, where the visitors are coming from, what search terms are most potent, the effectiveness of organic vs. paid advertisements.

Survicate is great at allowing us to poll users in-app and quickly analyzing results for distribution amongst the organization. However, its surveying capabilities are limited, visual interfaces are all over the place, which risks damaging the site's overall visual appeal, and customer service for anything beyond basic questions is very slow.

Return on Investment
  • Google Surveys has had a positive impact on my Google Classroom.
  • While using Google Surveys I am able to see how my students feel about a certain topic or subject.
  • Google Surveys is highly recommended because it provides a way to measure student progress by using polls.

  • Being able to automatically identify topics from open-text responses significantly reduced amount of manual work on our end. Hours saved on weekly basis.
  • One-time quick installation reduced the potential amount of development time required to either build surveys, or update them on our own.
  • We find these surveys to be a good alternative to lengthy questionnaires, or deep interviews. They're super quick to launch, and generate insights almost instantly. Money and time may be saved on user interviews, and incentives to take questionnaires.
