EstimateOne is where the Australian commercial construction industry meet during tender time. The vendor boasts being the biggest public tender noticeboard in Australia. EstimateOne aims to help subbies find and manage upcoming work opportunities that are relevant for their trade. On the other side of the fence, they help builders distribute and manage large volumes of drawings and documents, across multiple projects.

If you are looking for new opportunities to get in front of builders and architects (indirectly) then I think EstimateOne may be a solution, if you believe in your product and am willing to work on larger projects. If your product is niche or in short supply, you may struggle.
WorkflowMax is a good solution for the architecture and design profession in that it allows for multiple ways to track a project, apply time to a project, and invoice against a project. The ability to do staffing forecasting and future planning fills a need that most firms in this profession require.
Could do regional areas rather than state-based, we are based in Northern Victoria and we find it useless to have to pay for NSW access. We are not interested in anything more than 150 km north of the Murray River on the NSW side.
Subscription could also be regional based, rather than just state based.
Integration with inventory - there are a lot of companies out there which provide a service which includes selling items either purchased or held in stock or "kitted"
User permission levels need to be more flexible and ideally closely tied to Xero
Two way integration with Xero - ability to import invoices to specific jobs
Ability to save pdfs to purchase orders, invoices (like Xero)
EstimateOne is easy to use, the user interface is designed to be simple yet functional - many other platforms I have used are much more cumbersome to navigate and don't offer as much functionality. Everything has been thought out well with EstimateOne - it seems to have been designed by people who have worked in the industry.
Abby Tuong is an incredible employee who is EstimateOne. Her proactiveness, willingness to listen and help, and customer focus is second to none. With that level of support, it is no wonder EstimateOne has such rave reviews and is clearly the choice in the market.
Decide how to breakdown your ongoing jobs - are they monthly recurring or annual broken into chunks? What are you going to give clients i.e. how will your proposals and invoices look?
We have used many other platforms, but none are quite as intuitive or have a clean and easy to use interface as EstimateOne. Our company uses BidContender, BCI, Procore, Aconex and many other platforms for tendering etc. I highly rate EstimateOne when it comes to looking for work and submitting tenders, it is by far the best for collaborating and keeping track of work.
I'm not sure if it was by Ascentis or not, and it may have been an old version, but we used a program called Timekeeper. It was very outdated, difficult to use, and didn't provide easily producible reports. WorkflowMax is infinitely better to use for our business.
The time the company saves by using employees efficiently on each project makes the purchase of this software worthwhile. You can clearly verify how much time the staff spends on each project, with each client, and you can compare whether it is profitable or not the hours invested, thus increasing your profits.
