Comprehensive threat prevention against a variety of threats, such as viruses, ransomware, and spyware is effectively provided by ESET PROTECT. The cross platform compatibility of this software is advantageous for business with diverse IT environments such as those combination of Windows, macOS, and Linux systems. Some industries, such highly regulated sectors with specific compliance needs, may find it more cost-effective, however it is less suitable for small enterprises with limited IT resources and for organizations with severe budgetary limits.

I would absolutely recommend Malwarebytes Endpoint Protection to a colleague and I have recommended it to many of my peers in the IT world. Malwarebytes is well suited for any environment that requires protection from mal/ransomware which is most companies these days. In particular for companies that host their own big data that the operation of the company relies on. The only place Malwarebytes Endpoint Protection may not be AS appropriate would be one where there is near zero reliance on computers, networks and data.

Pros
  • ESET provides comprehensive, transparent protection for my MacOS devices without interfering with the efficiency of my operating system.
  • It's easy to install, configure (default settings are great for just about everyone), and update.
  • ESET's customer communications, including a very detailed knowledge base online, make it clear I've chosen the right antivirus solution!

  • The biggest plus with this software is that you can manage all the clients from a management console. You can push the install/updates through it. If the client cannot connect to the management console, then it will update directly from their website. This means you are always up to date and protected.
  • The software on the client machine has very low overhead so it doesn't affect the performance.
  • You can create policies based on the types of users or by the department. You can customize these policies so it will let you micro-manage the clients.

Cons
  • Price a little expensive - ESET is a great product, but it is priced at a high price and in a market as competitive as antivirus and security tools, this can weigh in the balance.
  • Complexity in creating rules - it's quite complex to create rules in ESET, you end up wasting some time on it, it could be more intuitive.

  • poor customer service
  • dashboard says product is working EVEN THOUGH IT WAS NOT!
  • slow response to concerns that should be easy to remedy
  • creates baggage which caused certain computers and the network to run more slowly
  • caused 3 computers on our network top have windows errors and network issues

Likelihood to Renew
I'm giving it a 10, because I would totally have no reservations about staying on with eSet for another 3 years once our contract comes up for renewal. We are looking to transfer to a different product in January, however. This is due to a special pricing contract with the state of Ohio that made a normally much more expensive product very affordable and was cheaper than our coming eSet renewal cost. This is a very special case only available to government and educational organizations, but had that not been offered, we would have gladly stayed with eSet.

When I first used the tool in my home systems MANY years ago, I wished for a Business version. I was once at a focus group for a major antivirus company, and one attendee’s feedback to “what could we do better?” was “buy out MalwareBytes and add it to your tool”. I’ve used the Business version since it first became available, and have continued to be a dedicated user through the many iterations and improvements

Usability
Provide execllent security agains malware, ransomware, and phishing. Easy to use and monitoring multiple devices and managing security settings remotely. Software firewall ability to secure network traffic and blocking websites and application at software level its gives very easy to configure .Zero-day threats as some other security products is missing with more advanced machine learning and behavioral analysis capabilities.

It simply works. It doesn't require the hand-holding and monitoring that some other solutions do. It's simple to deploy and maintain, and adding custom content such as Exceptions require minimal effort. I’ve had to add a few exceptions for internal-use, in-house-developed tools, but it’s quite simple to do so within the online interface

Support Rating
Excellent support from ESET and when we had questions regarding the initial deployment they were there. The questions we put forth were answered immediately with great detail. Any of the items we put forth, scenarios, were given a good solution from ESET to fit our needs. This company stands by their product and are happy to step up when needed.

Whenever I've had a query for the support team, they have got back to me very quickly, and given me very well detailed advice on fixing whatever the issue I had was. They also pointed me to help documents and such where I could find more information if I needed

Do the full scan at the beginning and be prepared to wait until it is done. It will find things you did not know were there. You can leave on the Apple firewall as well as the ESET firewall. There have been no conflicts. Remember to remove emails from being backed up, so you do not have spam on your backup! This was the mistake I made.

I first implemented this more than 10 years ago, when it required an in-site setup with SQL Server (or SQL Express), and even that was pretty easy. With the move to centralized web management some treats ago, it’s become even easier to deploy

Alternatives Considered
The two
main competitors We compared ESET PROTECT against was Bitdefender and Withsecure:

·
Performance: ESET PROTECT was the lowest performance compared to other competitors.

·
Console/dashboard: ESET PROTECT had the most intuitive UI, had great automation features and is the only
one that has an on prem option.

·
Security:
Bitdefender was the strongest but only by a few % but due to the cost being
double there was no way our management would accept the cost difference.

I think Malwarebytes Endpoint Protection is hands down better from any point of view other than price. Malwarebytes is a little bit more costly than Webroot. However, Malwarebytes detects more threats, protects against more malicious URL's, allows more in customization of policies, has better administration GUI, and has better means of implementation.

Return on Investment
  • My computer operation improved drastically so it was very effective in business execution.
  • I think it is a very easy software to introduce to small and medium-sized businesses at a reasonable price.
  • Even in license management, you will receive an email as soon as possible, so you can handle the renewal procedure in a lot of time.

  • Other than over billing our company by $6,821.76, our clients are very happy with our approach to network security and malware protection
  • Our service and lack of data breaches (do in part to Malwarebytes) has allowed us to retain our client base for over two decades.
