Tallie is well suited for those that utilize Bill.com or another of its compatible integrations. Small businesses to medium-sized corporations can (fairly quickly) leverage Tallie. Tallie would be less appropriate for organizations that already lean heavily on Salesforce, NetSuite, or Workday -- Concur or Expensify might be more suitable options.

Our primary model for budgeting revenue is centered on patient counts. Missed assumptions early in the year result in massive ramifications over the balance of the year. Workday formulas allowed us to write formulas to project the recovery of such shortfalls over a variable length of time, resulting in realistic projections for overcoming said shortfalls.

Pros
  • Very intuitive - liked how it was convenient to use when uploading receipts and liked how it would attempt to figure out what was on it so it could pre populate the required fields.
  • The ability to add multiple categories and subcategories for where your purchase falls in the organization was super helpful when keeping organized.
  • Mobile app to upload receipts on the fly has helped increase the amount of folks remembering to submit their receipts.

  • We specically wanted a cloud financial management system that we could use in China and communicate reports to the headquarters organization and roll-up reporting. It performs well.
  • It was reasonably priced since we are not a for-profit company and need the Workday flexibility for finance and accounting operations. Most of our requirements are met with this one system.
  • The system worked efficiently with the additional security we built on to keep confidential. Many reports are ready off-the-shelf or easy to develop, which is a strength.

Cons
  • Tallie suggests it is able to read receipts and place them into the correct category, but I find myself updating these sections each time I upload a receipt. The system should be updated to read multiple receipts.
  • Tallie sometimes rejects photos if they are not specific enough. This can be frustrating since it is sometimes difficult to upload receipts quickly while on the road. However, this rejection is not a common occurrence.
  • More often then not, Tallie's emails go to my junk folder. Tallie should work on their spam count for Outlook.

  • The automatic save function isn't always active for the cloud version. I'm not sure if it is a glitch or a settings issue.
  • There are some limitations to customizations.
  • Updates don't go through properly on the system, leading to downtime issues.

Usability
Certainly not as robust as bigger products/names on the market, but the features/solution it offers do extremely well, with a good mobile app experience and a nice, clean interface. It helped our organization (7 locations) go paperless, which rapidly improved our expense capture and timeliness in reporting and also gave our staff a better, user-friendly expense report and reimbursement process.

Workday Financial Management is an easy to use, productive software suite that really brings all departments together and improved workplace efficiency. Before we began using the software, much info was partitioned in random places that were not clearly labeled or accessible to all shareholders. We are very pleased with Workday Financial Management.

Support Rating
As a user of Tallie, I have never needed any support to use it. It is simple, logical and needs no training to use. As a company, I don't think we need any ongoing support but I believe the setup process, which they guided us through a year ago went well.

Our support team has been awesome. They are extremely knowledgeable and have been able to guide us through all of the challenges we have faced. Workday's community online is also extremely helpful with many trainings and help topics that can be reviewed at your convenience.

Alternatives Considered
Both Tallie and Expensify are quality products that help with credit card management. Setting up an account, if you are only managing one company either product is equally qualified, however, if you are managing multiple companies, I find Tallie is easier for the set up and management of companies. In Tallie companies are treated as separate products, when you log on you select which company you are working in and while in that company you don't have access to another, whereas in Expensify companies can be intermingled. This could have is benefits, but from an outsourcing point of view it can make set up and management of clients harder. With assisting users, in Tallie as long as a user has the right permissions and access to a company, they can access any user's account in order to process charges, or assist users by masquerading as them. In Expensify, users have to give admin access to their accounts through their co-pilot access, this isn't an issue if users aren't likely to need help or help from more than one admin person, but as your client list and users grow, this type of access can be challenging or overwhelming.

The application data of users in the case of PeopleSoft is stored in its proprietary data storage, whereas Workday Financial Management connects to outside databases to create analytics reports. Therefore, this option uplifts the need to use Workday Financial Management as an interactive tool of business intelligence. The release model of Workday Financial Management is ahead of Oracle because it has a continual announcement of more functionality that is a very attractive incentive for our project management team for improving and developing the ongoing operational streams.

  • It frees up my time by allowing people to self-report in a common platform rather than sending paper expense reports.
  • It's several thousand dollars cheaper than Concur and other high-end products.
  • It works. It's not easy to get multiple cloud systems to properly integrate and this one seems to get it done.

  • Workday has helped my employer save money over the past couple of year by tracking time of employees and how long were days looking like.
  • It has enables us to make better decisions by hiring more people instead of paying overtime to those who already work in order to have the right work/leisure balance
  • The platform has also helped us to redesign our policies after seeing when employees were clocking in and clocking out and track people who were showing up late for work
