Solid Commerce is a cloud-based channel and marketplace selling solution that integrates with a number of marketplaces, along with the users ERP, warehouse management application, accounting system, etc. to provide integrated management of orders, inventory, and logistics, as well as get discounts on shipping with major carriers and manage content about products on all marketplaces.
It would be well suited for a business that is just starting out with inventory management and sells on multiple channels. They are a growing company that is constantly changing and making improvements. I don't think there is another competitor out there that can offer the same features at their price point. It may not be well suit for large organizations.
Solid Commerce may be helpful for small businesses that want to reach from one marketplace to become multi-channel based. However, I would recommend short contracts, long trial periods, request a teammate with 2+ years experience at the company and don't be afraid to communicate your needs. I do feel there is a place for the company in the marketplace, it is less expensive than most, it has a lot of benefits in segmentation and pricing needs, but it can lack in reliability and is not as reactive to customers for an e-commerce market.
As their company grew and our e-commerce department grew, Solid Commerce lacked in customer service.
At one point we could see a high turnover rate of Solid Commerce employees, leading to a disconnect for customers.
We had a hard time functioning with other external tools like ShipWorks, ShipStation, our DMS, even uploading using excel files became unreliable.
We ended our relationship with Solid Commerce less then a year ago because we could not rely on their automation and communication. They knew this for months before we decided to terminate the relationship.
eComdash always answers our questions, and they have a call-back system to speak on the phone which is very convenient. The people there actually understand the complexities of the software and understand our problems when we explain them. Things get solved quickly and we feel like they care about the speed of the resolution.
ChannelAdvisor is a step up in building our e-commerce business. They have met our communication and customer service needs. They work with our other tools like e-Desk and ShipStation reliably. However, that step up comes with additional costs. ChannelAdvisor is an investment that is higher then Solid Commerce. However, we are about 10 months in and not once have we lost connection with ShipStation or not been able to print pick tickets
