Datasite is well suited for organizing large quantities of a variety of documents into folders. It is not as well suited for Xcel, which generally requires downloading in order to review, but there are quick preview options for Word and PDF items.

• Quick preview of document content is something I love! It lets me decide whether the file is relevant to our purposes or not instantly.
• Navigating through the folders is also very easy, and the website is also responsive without any lag/stutter.
• Although I don't use the feature due to confidentiality reasons, quick translate option is a really great addition to the tool.
• Many datarooms can only show excel documents as PDFs for a quick preview. I like the way Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room has Excel online handler to view the file. This is so helpful!

• Document sharing. This product makes it easy to upload, review and organize documents related to a particular project or matter.
• Permissions. Collaborate allows very granular permissions to be assigned for shared documents and administrative activities such as workflows.
• Reliability. The product is cloud-based and rarely, if ever, unavailable.

• It is just not that exciting. We host documents on there for clients but the extranet sites have ultimately turned out to not be a product that our clients are clamoring for or that we are regularly pushing.

It is my go to data room provider and I am super comfortable using it. I don't think I would want to use anything else since I can't trust them like I can trust Datasite

Tough to figure out at first but after using the platform for some time, you can get used to Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room pretty quickly. Would be great to have more of a tutorial up front to better be able to navigate the software, especially starting off as the data dealt with is sensitive.

The interface is easy to use and overall the software seems pretty robust (I haven't had any crashes yet), so I haven't had to use the support very often. Likewise, I don't think I've ever had a client e-mail me with questions or issues - the software is pretty idiot-proof.

I think Intralinks is the closest competitor. Relative to the rest of the providers (outside of Intralinks), Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room is easier to use and more reliable.

There are a large number of file sharing solutions out there. We do not use services like Dropbox and Box because they do not meet our document security requirements. Some clients use Sharepoint to host documents and share them with external organizations. I find the interface clunky and overall harder to use. For one-off requests, we use have a "Secure File Transfer" service (it seems to be a whitebox solution that we slap our logo on, so I'm not sure which software it actually is). That works well for one-off requests but does not have many of the key features that HighQ Collaborate does for long term document sharing.

There is a bulk download, and it appears there is a bulk upload which makes it easier to get multiple files onto the platform when needed.

• No limits on number of files or file sizes which make it a great tool for any deal, large or small.
