Any time you need or want to use an ftp client, an app such as Cyberduck is perfectly suited. I feel it works best when you're working with another business or vendor. If you need to send files to a client that are too large for email, I typically use WeTransfer, but mainly because you don't need to sign in to use that.

Usability
I really like the basic interface and folder like structure. It makes me feel like I'm in a regular folder window on my Mac. Navigation is simple. The toolbar is customizable to be able to add or remove icons to improve the simplicity and ease of use of the application. The app is very simply designed, which I appreciate.

Support Rating
When I did have a support request, I was less than pleased with the response. Firstly, it took a while to get a response. Secondly, I don't even think they addressed me directly--I got an automated response showing me that they had created an issue for it to be worked on in an upcoming release/update for the app. While the problem did get fixed, it never feels great to essentially get a response saying, "we'll add that to our list and maybe fix it some time in the future."

Alternatives Considered
I have not used similar featured cloud storage products though I can highly recommend Cyberduck due to its great services. It is easy to arrange and search any file while using drag and drop features. The overall performance in browsing and and transferring files has been effective. My experience with this product has been awesome and I recommend to any company that aspires to improve storage services and data security.

Return on Investment
  • The amount of time it takes me to upload/download files is significantly less than alternatives I've tried. This has saved me countless hours... and, as they say, "time is money."
  • Cyberduck is also much easier to configure than other apps I've tried. Connecting to my remote server was very straightforward, and even a complete novice could do it without much trouble.
  • The ease of use for obtaining file download links is also both a time and energy saver. When I spend less time and effort on simple tasks, I can focus on other business matters that are more complex.
