Cvent Passkey streamlines and automates meeting and event bookings for hotels, DMOs, and venues—creating valuable upsell opportunities. Event planners benefit from a centralized room block and reservation management system, and hotels can promote room upgrades, extended stays, and other amenities to group guests.

Oracle Hospitality features the OPERA 5 property management solutions, which allow hoteliers to orchestrate the many facets of their business—including reservations, loyalty, and sales and catering. OPERA 5 fits hotels of all types, from independent properties to international resorts.
If a property is managing a block of 15 or more rooms, Cvent Passkey is extremely helpful as it helps streamline room types, attendee types, and premium up-sell options. If you are working on a smaller group that has specific requirements that restrict their room options, basic booking software will suffice.
Oracle Hospitality OPERA--Sales and Catering is suitable for handling all hotel procedures in the best possible way. It is also well suited to keep track of restaurant sales and all invoices issued on the current day are immediately recorded in the main database that collects all the administrative information of the company.
Oracle Hospitality OPERA is not well suited for maintaining multiple sessions between departments. It causes software downgrades and loss of information if not handled properly.
The support center for administrators (GroupMax) and the dashboard could be better. Good for beginnings, but there is a lack of detail for more advanced users.
The process of building a booking site could be easier/more streamlined. We sometimes have to hunt around to find where to edit information.
OPERA is too slow to run for the first time and the problem persists in time.
That OPERA only opens through browsers like Internet Explorer takes away from the user's interest and makes it adapt to the slowness of the browser in question.
It does not allow autonomy in terms of software, which means that if you are occupying your session on the platform and another collaborator needs to use it because it causes crashes in the OPERA system, which causes problems.
My best advice is to have one or two people own the Cvent Passkey maintenance. If a person is using the software frequently, you will find tips and usability becomes quite easy. A novice may find some difficulty understanding how inventory distribution works but all of the training courses offered are very useful to help hone in on the craft
Cvent has superb customer service in general. They are always reachable and friendly and are willing to spend as much time in chat or on the phone with you as necessary to get your problems solved. The user-experience within Cvent compared to other registration providers is so much better! In the little time I've had in my field, this is clear to see.
I did not make the purchasing decision to incorporate Passkey into our business standards. I know that while demanding upon set up, it saves a significant amount of time when the main planning portion of the event is in swing. I personally have not used any other products like Cvent Passkey. With the new flex website design, it will not make sense to continue to use passkey when we can incorporate hotel selection into the registration process directly during registration.
OPERA has taken a new perspective on how to manage the hospitality industry today and what holds it together with its predecessor Oracle Hospitality (formerly MICROS) is that it allows for better functionality in terms of its interface and the fact that MICROS is an outdated system makes it very susceptible to constant errors in its data system. OPERA, however, has proven itself in every aspect for which it was created and makes it suitable for the hospitality industry.
