Clearbit is great for companies with large sales teams who focus on high touch prospecting. The time saved by not having to search a prospect's LinkedIn profile, but simply see data in the CRM is awesome. On the other hand, Clearbit may not be as ideal in a company where sales are very transactional

Data.com is a good prospecting and data information tool for any agency or company doing outbound prospecting. Data.com requires you to also have Salesforce CRM, so this tool is really only suited for those companies that can afford Salesforce. Because of this, Data.com seems like a better fit for companies with at least 30 or more employees (total in the company) and at least 5 Salesforce users. Data.com is not a good fit for small businesses.

Pros
  • I appreciate its simple layout and its navigation which allows SDRs to find company-associated web pages.
  • I can easily send them emails. In this way, I have generated leads that eventually affect my sales.
  • It is integrated with so many other similar tools that have left a mark in managing the CRM.

  • The contact information the website provides tends to be accurate.
  • I like that it is free and works on a point system- the more info you give, the more info you get.
  • I like that you can update contact information as needed.

Cons
  • Clearbit is like other products that I use and the biggest challenge I have is getting it to work with the programs I want to use. I would love to have all my programs flow through something like Clearbit without a lot of programming and API juggling. Not a Clearbit issue, however, it would be awesome to have a universal IO API that we can all plug into and make life simple.

  • Even though it has a lot of features, sometimes it gets overwhelming for a newbie. So I would really appreciate it if the user interface gets more friendly.
  • There are some digital advertising channels that Data.com struggles to connect. Also, within some channels like LinkedIn, it would be great if data.com could get more granular on ad type, ad targeting level (speaking from a marketing perspective).
  • It has limited visualization capabilities where there is a lot of scope for improvement.

The majority of the time it provides quick, accessible and easy to use information about the company and contact information. This has really helped us to personalise our outreach while also making it faster to prospect accounts. I don't give it a ten as this information can be inaccurate. Including the LinkedIn link which sometimes re-directs to old LinkedIn accounts, or just the wrong one. This seems to be caused by not updating the information regularly enough (just a feeling, no evidence)

Usability
Clearbit is very easy to use. Any new joiner can self-onboard, self-learn in matter of hours, if not minutes. Its integration feature within Hubspot and also with Salesforce makes it easy for marketing team to use it every day. The customer support team is also very responsive and helpful to resolve issues within few days

Very intuitive to use and I've never had any confusion with features. Anyone can create an account and use the platform simply by adding a contact or company into the database to earn points. It's a great option if you don't have budget for lists or pay services. It is easy to use and anyone can benefit from it.

Support Rating
The team has been extremely helpful and works with us one on one with issues we come across. My main issues with the service is it’s outward interactions with us since purchasing the product. They have not proactively checked in to see how our is doing with the product.

Whenever I've had a question their support has responded pretty quickly and gives me exactly what I am looking for. I have not had any technical issues so I can't speak to issues there, but as far as general questions from a free user they have impressed me with how quickly they get back to me and the thoroughness of their answers.

Alternatives Considered
Clearbit is right up there with similar products. I find Clearbit useful in certain situations and specific industries. The user experience and integrations make it an easy tool to learn and use. In all this is a great tool, but I would like to see a broader range of data

The accuracy of Data.com versus SalesIntel is second to none. Data.com integrates with our current Salesforce platform, which takes out a lot of the manual manipulation of lists that we used to have to do when we had other platforms. This is particularly helpful because time is money.

Return on Investment
  • It's provided some key data in terms of geography which we rely on to distribute our customers and prospects to territories.
  • Works great for large repositories of data, which we have.
  • Not as useful for proactive prospecting. We use it primarily for data enrichment and confirmation of demographic info.

  • As a freelancer, I've made thousands of dollars building sales lists, for what began as a $50 trial.
  • Cross referencing with LinkedIn helps to explain to clients the job title progression a person has had, which can add to your credibility and strengthen your report content.
  • Data.com hasn't had a negative return for me. Every dollar and minute of effort I have used it was worth it.
