Like it's name suggests, the Cisco Meraki Z3 Teleworker is well suited for remote or teleworkers. It simplifies connecting remote workers in a secure way to internal networks via Meraki SD-WAN capabilities with great versatility for both, remote workers and administrators. Wireless and cable connections make it perfect for remote workers and the central dashboard with its possibilites for simple setup are pros for the Cisco Meraki Z3 Teleworker.

  • They are simple to set up and configure. With just a few months of experience you can easily deploy any series of XTM in mid to small environments in minutes. I can deploy clustered M5600 in an enterprise within 30 minutes straight from the box, that's easy.
  • They are very reasonably priced and competitive in the market. For small and mid-sized businesses it's hard to beat the bang for the buck.
  • After setting them up, it's also very easy to fine tune and manage them. The packet monitor is very useful in troubleshooting and I use it to tighten down rule sets.
  • Dimension is a great packet analyzer and I think they still offer it as a free tool.

Alternatives Considered
At the time of implementation, we were not aware of a comparable product from Cisco or comparative vendor. We had initially deployed the Z1 appliance and had so much success that the transition to the Cisco Meraki Z3 Teleworker was a quick and easy fit for us. The device is easy to deploy and just works.
