With how ours needed to be deployed, we needed to utilize the Cisco IoTOD. This has made doing anything to this router an absolute nightmare. Even using TAC to help us was impossible because even they gave up and handed us off to the developer of the dashboard who admitted that it was not ready to deploy let alone sell and it took us a year and a half to get this thing useable. But once it was set up, and as long as we do not use SEA or the IoT dashboard and just let this sit there, it has been working and had no issues with reliability.

It is a technical support very capable of responding to each of our needs, they are fast and with adequate and very timely responses, from the beginning of the implementation they gave us good suggestions so that the routers were successful, the attention they gave us was great and no hiccups.

We did wish there was a rack mountable router option with a similar pricepoint. While being deployed in remote sites, they often still have standard racks rather than DIN rail mounts and would use less space if they were a standard 1U size and shape. Modules take up extra Us of space.

For a set and forget solution, the Cisco Catalyst IR1100 Rugged Series Routers have been rock solid. No learning curve was required as we have seen with other industrial connectivity solutions. These really have been a fantastic solution in the industrial space. The flexibility and stability of the hardware is great. I do like that it does not use excessive power like some vehicle-based solutions.

• It is a product with productive characteristics, the functions are adequate to the needs that are possessed, the browsing speed is powerful and ensures compliance with what is required, the high cost is forgotten when seeing that the routers cover all corners of the company and with great speed. It is a good professional technology that Cisco has been able to create for our networking needs.
