Intuit now offers and supports TurboTax, a tax preparation and filing service for individuals and small businesses available online, or installed via CD and download (Windows, Mac).
If you have a pro that uses the software then you should be fine. If you are using the software and need any support from THEIR customer support people or dedicated rep, be prepared to be frustrated! Horrible Customer Service but it is due to Wolters Kluwer not caring and purchasing various tax products but not having the ethics to make sure they are properly trained or overwhelmed
Great for most situations. Depending on your complexities, Intuit TurboTax is a great option for self service or Intuit supported tax preparation. The system will store your prior year data making gathering needed documents easy.
CCH offered a best-in-class product at a price point that was "reasonable", given the high volume of users in our organization and the immense number of tax returns we complete annually. We also already employ many other tools from the WoltersKluwer family of applications, which alleviates the administrative burden of reviewing a new vendor.
We select TurboTax for its wide user base (familiarity), price points (multiple offerings based on users' needs), user experience (intuitiveness), technology (adaptive to user tax situations and simplify user data entry by means of upload feature), customer support (for implementer and end-users) and expert support (i.e., CPA), cloud capability, safety and security. Other products also offer several features like those but not to the same level of comprehensiveness and sophistication.
