Genius is well-suited for a smaller company looking to do one-off campaigns and not necessarily needing to track within a separate system. For example, the professional version of Salesforce is probably an ideal size for Genius. For a more enterprise/larger company I wouldn't suggest Genius be used.

Pros
  • I like the simplicity of the program. Each step is laid out and self-explanatory for creating an email campaign which makes the process extremely easy.
  • I like how LeadFormix provides you with different reports to look at. The information is helpful to see how well your campaign is doing with whatever the target audience it is.
  • I also love that I can store a number of different email campaigns that I've done in the past to use as a template for additional projects I have.

  • It just didn't work
  • We would schedule email blasts and it says it sent but they never did
  • Simple math on the metrics was wrong sometimes
  • UI was buggy, WYSIWYG editor barely worked and was a pain to deal with
  • Bugs all over

Likelihood to Renew
This is the program of choice for my company. There may be more effective email marketing services out there, but I also recognize that other teams in my company (who use the website lead tracking services) are most happy with LeadFormix. Furthermore, this program is more cost effective for us than others would be.

Alternatives Considered
We selected CallidusCloud (Genius) based on the level of service for the price. It was more cost effective then Silver Pop which was another tool recommended to us. On the other hand, mail chimp did not provide the level of integration needed with our CRM - Salesforce. We need to be able to connect the response to an email campaign to the individual contact (student) record and determine the success of the campaign.

  • We have had problems with our emails landing up in spam which was hampering out marketing efforts.
  • Too many features that add very little value to business
  • You spend too much of time on the tool because the UI is very confusing
