Barracuda Cloud-to-Cloud Backup vs. CodeTwo Backup

I have yet to identify a short coming with this solution. I have found it easy to configure, manage, and restore items when needed. Barracuda Cloud-to-Cloud Backup is also very proactive at managing our account and assisted us in validating the configuration for any new functions that need to be implemented.

Because we have an exchange hybrid environment finding the right product which suited our needs was not easy. But with a product like CodeTwo Backup we are able to back up only specific mail accounts / mails which are mapped to our archive systems. That was not possible with other products we tried.The possibility to be able to choose which account to backup or restore and the option to be able to backup up specific Data on Sharepoint / OneDrive is awesome.Not forgetting how pretty easy the licensing procedure is when purchasing the product.

• It can cost effectively backup the entire M365 environment and retain backups indefinitely
• Restores can be very grannual, for example to restore single email message
• Implemention of the product is quite easy and fast

• Takes the unneeded extra technical knowhow out of restoring for lower level IT employees.
• Like other CodeTwo products, it is very easy to setup and confirm it is working.
• Allows the ability to restore mail from one users folder to another. A great feature most products like this do not have.
• Licensing and pricing is very friendly for cost strapped businesses.
• Has throttling capability to avoid throwing a red flag with your tenant's settings.

• When performing a restore, the search filter & the mailbox filter button can be confused, depending on what you want to achieve.

• The possibility to create a support case without having to log in to the portal.
• Overview of the backup mailboxes or Sharepoint / OneDrive data and their sizes so that one can see how big the mail accounts are
• The possibility to generate reports of the created backups
• Possibility to set up mail notifications like alerts, etc.

The software is very user-friendly, easy to install and configure and the user interface is very intuitive and easy to navigate throughout. We are am able to get restores of our Microsoft Data (on premise and cloud) easily without any hussle. With the help of the marvelous CodeTwo support team we've been able to overcome any obstacles we encountered.

in a few clicks the backup was running. The first restore was exiting since we didn't know what to expect.

Features wise products are pretty similar, but Barracuda is more cost effective when you take into account students in our organizations. This is the main reason we selected Barracuda, to be to protect all users cost effectively. Veeam might have more features, but the cost of licensing outweighs in favour of Barracuda.

Although Veeam's offerings are somewhat similar in trying to add additional layers of protection, on the Microsoft's default offerings, the CodeTwo product was more situated to do what we wanted which was brick level back up and restores of single files and emails. Veeams offering is more backend server/virtual machine savvy
