Comparison of Internet of Things features of Product A and Product B
AWS iot core is very useful if you need to scale very quickly for managing lots of devices without handling the underlying infrastructure cost. It can enable real time publishing and subscription of devices, monitoring and early stage intervention in case of unexpected issues while developing a full stack solution. However, healthcare scenarios where government intervention is needed should be developed and scaled by following the set of compliance policies of the government and the SLA requirements of the customer. Finally, it is great where you need to do data science research after anonymizing data
If your organization is smaller in nature and is looking for something out of the box, this platform may be for you. However if your organization is looking for something with added customization and a quick deployment, shift your attention in a different direction. The idea of the product is great and should allow for enhanced customization in the future; if it works properly. The analytics tools are promising but lack quite a lot.
Cross-platform mobile development - we used this for developing the app on a native platform (which could be iOS, Android). Kony offers tools that are useful because they decrease costs and increase the speed at which apps are developed. In addition, cross-platform mobile development tools are generally quite simple to use as they are based off of the common languages for scripting, including CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. It has become easy to find resources with the skill set especially because this is based out of common languages.
In Kony mobility platform Visualizer makes app development quick and easy. Tons of documentation online.
Used Kony to develop an amazing app that serves our customers well. WYSIWYG interface is great for building interfaces quickly. Build and test quickly for many different targets.
I give AWS IoT Core's overall usability this rating because it is very easy to use and is enjoyed by all of our staff. The only problem is that it sometimes glitches and it freezes a lot. So overall, the usability of AWS IoT Core is very good, and we will continue to use it.
It covers all the aspects of IoT services required for an IoT company. It supports all the industry-wide protocols for secure data transmission and integrates powerful AL and ML technology for data analytics. For data storage, Amazon S3 is a great solution. Strong tech support and user community. Since it is widely used as compared to other products, there is an abundance of training and learning material on the web.
Azure IoT is a good product but since our whole suite of tech is now set up in AWS (ec2, s3, sagemaker, cloud formation, etc.), we wanted something that could quickly adapt to our environments. Learning a new tech for IoT was simply a bottleneck that we wanted to avoid at this point.
We are using KDC to migrate EPIC applications. So far, we are using it for our projects, billing and finance apps. We are also working on extending it to other departments. It is being used by an entity (TSO).
Positive on ROI. I'm constantly utilizing Kony since it's a robust tool capable of publishing.
It also shares prototype creations of apps in a highly intuitive and customizable environment. It provides a preview of apps in real-time. Collaboration is seamless. Important functionality includes smartphone features (without any written code involved) and accessibility to a browser, maps, and SMS.
Trying to understand the user manual can be challenging since there are way too many features available. All of them aren't really necessary for beginners. And they've yet to offer them in a "phased" approach.
