JReport is well suited for enterprise use. It makes creating and managing schedules easy. Each machine in the cluster is capable of functioning in isolation. Load sharing and load balancing options available OOTB are diverse for various types of business needs. The best feature is its ability to detect that a schedule did not complete due to a crash or any other reason and ensure completion through parallel nodes. JReport is not well suited for a small business.

  • I was looking for an embeddable BI solution and JReport is the best of the breed in this area. Head and shoulders over the competition! Their intuitive drag and drop interface allows us to create great looking reports in minutes. JReport architecture is scalable and allows us to serve thousands of users worldwide.
  • Equally impressive was their responsiveness in implementing features required in the life sciences industry.

Cons
No answers on this topic
  • We’d like to see more details in the release notes. Not always clear whether our feature requests made it into a specific release.
  • Would like better visibility into product road-maps.
  • New releases that provide improvements on some report types, may not always be applied to all report types.

  • Handy dashboard
  • Create reports in various formats
  • Would like to see a longer listing of reports per screen on the scheduler in JReport Server/Admin Console as we have a lot of reports we run.
